Copenhagen has evolved into a true shopping capital with a combination of major brand shops and hip local shops. You will find a wide selection of shopping options in the pedestrian street area of the city centre. We suggest a walk along Strøget and Købmagergade for instance. But the immediate suburbs of Nørrebro and Vesterbro are well worth the 15 minute walk. Here you will encounter a lot of interesting new shops whether you are interested in childrens clothing, antiques or spare parts for bikes.
Don't miss Elmegade on Nørrebro or Istedgade on Vesterbro: Hip clothing and excellent lunch snacks will be abundant here.
In the city centre, you will find a lot of interesting design and furniture shops as well.
Of course, Copenhagen has its fair share of department stores: Magasin du Nord, Illum and Fields are among the best ones.
